The Forensic Investigations Manager will conduct and coordinate financial and fraud audits, investigations and analytical services, globally. In this role, the Manager of Forensic Investigations will collaborate with the Director of Ethical Compliance, Internal Audit Manager and senior corporate leadership to provide forensic accounting, due diligence and investigation services. This position will report to Vice President, Internal Audit and will be a key member of Varian’s compliance management team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a proactive and strategic approach to implementing and advancing our global compliance program in the areas of due diligence and monitoring.
  • Conduct and lead fieldwork for various levels of internal investigations
  • Collaborate with Corporate leadership (e.g., Legal, Human Resources and Ethical Compliance departments) to conduct investigations on fraud, whistleblower or other compliance matters to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, best practices, and our internal Code of Conduct.
  • Conduct investigations related to whistleblower allegations, fraud, foreign corrupt practices act, conflicts of interest, related party transactions, and other matters.
  • Assist with document requests
  • Prepare questions and interview witnesses
  • Data mining and analysis, including database construction of financial records, accounting data, email analysis, database extracts, etc.
  • Effectively document the scope of work, procedures performed and results of investigation ion accordance with the commensurate protocols of each investigation.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of all internal reporting requirements.
  • Review relevant proposed internal processes, policies, and procedures for gaps and suggest changes for improvement.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of forensic accounting experience within a global corporation; Medical device or pharmaceutical company, preferred.
  • CPA or CFE certifications
  • Experience executing investigation protocols and procedures.
  • Familiar with policies, laws, and regulations of compliance, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, etc.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement courses of action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
