The Silicon Valley ISSA had about 30 students in their Spring 2008 CISSP Review course, which concluded June 16th. It included security professionals from companies throughout Silicon Valley. We also welcomed 10 members from ISACA at this course.
The chapter thanks each of the CISSP domain mentor volunteers for their continued support to our chapter. Each individual has presented at several previous SV ISSA CISSP courses and have helped make this initiative a success.
Thank you to the following mentors for the current class:
Hari Pendyala
Jeff Fenton of Lockheed Martin
Greg Edwards of Lockheed Martin
Ron LaPedis of Citrix
Bill Lattin of Certicom
And especially thank you to Elton Hay of Ariba who provided the facility and support.

It's
Your Chapter, Make Sure Your Opinions are Heard
At the June chapter meeting, our President, J.J. Thompson, shared some initial results of survey on a new
proposed approach to our programs with attendees. The focal point was
the process by which we plan to act on the information shared by each of you
as to what you want to get out of your SV-ISSA experience. This process has
several key components which are listed below:
- Conduct Research &
Analysis
- Improve Programs & Processes
- Increase
Communication & Awareness
- Include Volunteers & Sponsors
- Implement & Continually Improve
Perhaps the most critical component is the initial phase where we ask
that you take a few moments and share your thoughts with us on what
you like about ISSA, what we can improve, and how we can better support your
goals. Please take a moment and complete this survey. Results will be
used to drive our program development in the upcoming quarters so we may
increase our alignment with your goals as a member of our chapter.
