The board of directors for the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Informaiton Systems Security Association (ISSA)  is comprised of individuals who have not only expressed interest in contributing to the greater good of the Information Security community and the community-at-large, but have also volunteered their time to take action towards achieving this goal. With representation from some of the largest Silicon Valley companies to niche boutiques, we work hard to facilitate fulfillment of our members' objectives.

Edward Frye

Edward Frye presides over all chapter and board meetings as well as providing general leadership for the chapter. Edward is the Head of Security / CISO for Elementum SCM, Inc.   Edward has been an information security professional since 2000 providing a wide breadth of expertise in Network and Information Security across many industries including Supply Chain, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Financial Services. 


Bill Danigelis
Vice President:

Responsible for bringing in industry speakers and sponsors for the chapter. Working in conjunction with the entire board to ensure the content is relevant to their Information Security career and knowledge.

Bill is an information security sales professional, currently sales for Digital Shadows, and has over 20 years of security experience with several security startups. He has been an active member of the ISSA since 1997 spending 7 years on the Silicon Valley board and 8 years on the ISSA International board. Bill is an ISSA Honor Roll recipient. 


Dick Hacking

Dick Hacking has been performing security control failure assessments for most of his career. He is currently a QSA performing assessments against PCI DSS requirements for credit card security in small to mid-size businesses. He also regularly performs IT security and governance gap reviews and advises clients on how to expand their security posture. He is also treasurer for the annual Cornerstones of Trust conference.


Andrew Daniels
Education Director:

Drew is responsible for the education programs for the SV chapter.  He is responsible for putting together and alerting the chapter of any training opportunities that may be of interest to the chapter.  During most days Drew is the Vice President of Security for Qubole, Inc. a Data Analytics company and is responsible for security, compliance and privacy and reports to the CEO.  In addition Drew also serves as security adviser for VC backed startups.

Drew has been head of security for several companies over the past 10 years including Shutterfly, ClearSlide and Qubole.  He has over 25 years of total experience.I'm an avid emailer feel free to email


Scott Bursese
Events Director:

As events director, Scott is responsible for coordinating events for the Silicon Valley ISSA Chapter and working with the San Francisco ISSA, Infraguard, and ISACA on joint events.

Scott is an Information Security leader with 14 years experience in security serving the DoD, gov agencies, Cisco & security startups.  He is well versed in cloud security, vehicle security, security operations and incident response.


John Donovan
Membership Director:

John is responsible for growing chapter membership, interfacing with International, and keeping track of meeting attendance. If you have an interest in helping grow membership please reach out. John is a Security, Technology, Non-profit leader. Passionate in creating business advantage w/ Cyber-security and risk programs and in advancing the state of security and privacy through organizations like ISSA. 20+ years of experience in developing and operating information security, IT, engineering services and business processes. 15+ years of direct Information Security, IT and engineering management experience.


Sujeet Bambawale
Communications Director:

Identifying priorities and opportunities for the ISSA to be strategically positioned as a thought leader in the community of information security professionals

Andy Radle
Recording Director:

Andy’s 25+ year HPE career includes prior roles managing a GRC function and leading roles in identity management, service management, service marketing, service engineering, network architecture and network engineering.Andy holds a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, is a Senior Member of the Information Systems Security Association and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineri


Ken Voigt
Chapter Webmaster:

Ken is responsible for Administrative and Technical Management of the web site and SV-ISSA email system for the board. Ken has been an ISSA member since 2003, and served as chapter president for the San Francisco chapter in 2005-2007. In 2008 Ken became a member of the Silicon Valley chapter. Ken served as Education director for the Silicon Valley chapter from 2010-2016.In the role as education director, his primary function was to plan and produce the annual chapter sponsored CISSP review course. Ken is gainfully employed as a Network Engineer Consultant, responsible for installation and operation of Firewalls, Load Balancers, and network access controls (ACLs) on data center network switches & routers.
