Description

Since 2006, amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) and changes to states' electronic discovery statutes have placed unprecedented challenges on organizations to fulfill their legal obligations within the lifecycle of litigation matters and regulatory investigations. At Kaiser Permanente, the Technology Risk Organization - Cyber Security | Threat Response & Investigation Services (TPIS) maintains an Electronic Discovery Services Team to support this effort.

Position Overview:

As a member of the E-Discovery Team, you will ensure the successful execution of requests that are designed to meet business needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing ESI Collection Requests via email or within a Litigation Hold Management System
  • Identifying potentially relevant sources of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) using proprietary internal databases
  • Collecting ESI for legal matters using state of the art industry standardized tools
  • Preserving and tracking ESI on various media types, i.e. - online and offline storage

The position requires strong adherence to industry "best practices," KP Information Security Policies and Standards and KP's Principles of Responsibility (POR). The successful candidate must possess strong team skills and the ability to multi-task assignments and modify priorities based on changing business needs. The candidate must be able to work well under pressure.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of Information Technology (IT) experience including development, implementation, communication, monitoring and maintenance of information security policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Moderate to advanced-level knowledge of the Windows Operating System and Basic Networking Technologies
  • Possession of general Information Technology and Information Security certifications, such as A+, Network + and Security + are a plus
  • The ability to learn basic functionality of computer forensic and electronic discovery software suites, such as Guidance Software's EnCase Enterprise or E-Discovery Suite
  • Proficiency in customer and client relations including team focus, partnership and collaboration
  • Project execution skills (ability to prioritize tasks, maintain tracking list, communicate delays and follow-up with clients, peers and management as needed)
  • Experience in working on multiple large-scale projects concurrently
