Situation:
With an A health rating and solid year over year growth, San Francisco FCU’s membership is now over 43,000, with assets surpassing $1 billion and branches located in San Francisco and San Mateo County. Continuing along its highly successful growth trajectory, SFFCU is expanding its IT group and adding a Network Security Engineer based out of its San Francisco headquarters.
Position:
This individual will play the mission critical role of ongoing administration, deployment, development and maintenance of SFFCU’s information security structure.
Leveraging their diverse and deep capabilities in a range of security technologies, the Network Security Engineer will be called upon to manage such diverse activities as Tier 2 Third Party escalations, problem solving with system and business owners to create innovative solutions to existing production security issues, and performing the integration and initial configuration of all new and enhanced security solutions.
The Ideal Candidate:
While the ideal candidate has the technical capabilities and exposure to diverse operating systems, networking protocols and systems administration, they also have the interpersonal skills that allow them to act as a team member (and/or independently) to assure SFFCU’s enterprise security posture and align technical controls with NIST CSF objectives.
Above all, information security is not a series of tasks for them as much as it is a passion. The ideal candidate has thirst for knowledge and learning that serves them well as they are constantly preparing their organization for new and emerging threats.
