ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Senior Security Architect, you will lead software experts to define a reference architecture that will enable the GE businesses to rapidly build business solutions. You will work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced and growing environment. Your role is to lead the architect and design, innovative platform/solutions to enable software solutions for real market problems.

You will define enterprise-scale architectures. You will work closely with lead system architects, product and marketing managers, user interaction designers, and software engineers to lead the development of new product offerings and improve existing ones. This position reports to the Chief Architect.

As a Senior Security Architect, you will:

  • Understand the business’s opportunities and company vision to guide your architecture. Own the architecture, design the software modules and work with the developers in specific implementations.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of new product offerings and improve existing ones
  • Lead the design of system interaction models and define frameworks and interfaces
  • Drive the design of user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces, if applicable
  • Integrate internal and external product designs that enable a cohesive System experience
  • Lead the creation of prototypes to prove technologies and systems interactions
  • Lead project teams and work with user experience researchers to design and architect presentations strategy and frameworks, if applicable
  • Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of  12  years of experience in delivering security solutions as part of product development
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to include common authentication architecture, user provisioning and de-provisioning architecture and implementation, Role Based Access Control (RBAC), password management systems, as well as knowledge of Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
  • Demonstrated experience in secure web development and secure web design patterns
  • Deep understanding of common internet protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP; HTTPS; FTP, SFTP, SSH
  • Deep understanding of common network components: Firewall, Router, Proxy, and XML Appliances
  • Deep understanding of basic encryption technologies to include SSL, TLS
  • Experience creating and implementing Security Controls and Security Policy
  • Proven experience developing Software/Security architecture, design, and integration patterns as well as software/security best practices
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in the East Bay Area in Northern California.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to travel.

DESIRED CHARACTARISTICS:

  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On solutions to include relevant standards and technologies: SAML, OAuth, JSON Web Token (JWT), WS-Federation, WS-Trust, XML Signature
  • Experience with   XML Firewall appliance solutions to include relevant standards and technologies:  SAML, XACML, WS-Security, WS-Trust, WS-Policy
  • Knowledge of SOAP web services, REST web services, Web Service stacks, Web Service Management, and SOA Patterns
  • Experience in Scanning and Vulnerability to include source code scanning for the OWASP topten, web endpoint scanning, system benchmarks, and penetration testing.
  • Knowledge of security auditing requirements and technologies
  • Familiarity of industry regulations such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
